At Wrexham Chauffeurs, we are proud to announce that we have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, demonstrating our commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community. As a company dedicated to providing premium chauffeur services in North Wales, we recognise the immense contribution that serving personnel, veterans, reservists, and military families make to our country. By signing this pledge, we reaffirm our commitment to treating them with fairness, respect, and support.
What is the Armed Forces Covenant?
The Armed Forces Covenant is a nationwide pledge ensuring that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, along with their families, are treated fairly in society. It is a commitment from businesses, local authorities, charities, and other organisations to acknowledge the sacrifices made by military personnel and to support them in their civilian lives.
Key Principles of the Armed Forces Covenant
- No member of the Armed Forces community should face disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services.
- In some cases, special treatment may be appropriate, particularly for those who have been injured or bereaved as a result of their service.
Our Commitment to the Armed Forces Community
By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, Wrexham Chauffeurs has pledged to uphold these principles through meaningful actions, including:
Employment Support for Veterans, Reservists, and Military Families
- Recognising military skills and qualifications in our recruitment process.
- Working with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) to support veterans in their transition to civilian employment.
- Supporting the employment of service spouses and partners by providing flexibility around military commitments.
Support for Reservists and Cadet Organisations
- Granting additional leave for employees who serve as Reservists to attend training and deployment.
- Encouraging staff to become Reservists and volunteer leaders in cadet organisations.
- Supporting local cadet units and recognising the benefits of employing cadets and ex-cadets.
Community Engagement and Charitable Support
- Participating in and promoting national events such as Armed Forces Day, Reserves Day, the Poppy Appeal, and Remembrance activities.
- Supporting Armed Forces charities through fundraising and staff volunteer initiatives.
Exclusive Discounts for Armed Forces Members
As part of our commitment, Wrexham Chauffeurs is pleased to offer a 10% discount on our standard fares to members of the Armed Forces community. This includes serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and their families. We believe in showing our appreciation by making luxury travel more accessible to those who have served our country.
Recognition Through the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme
With our signing of the Armed Forces Covenant, Wrexham Chauffeurs is now eligible for the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze award. This scheme acknowledges businesses that go above and beyond in supporting the Armed Forces community, with Silver and Gold awards available for those demonstrating even greater commitment.
